Leading Harvest Metrics Pilot
Leading Harvest seeks to integrate a set of universal metrics into its Farmland Management Standard that allows members across the value chain to layer consistent data and metrics into their certification that can quantify outcomes, third-party validate improvement, and identify the highest ROI for on-farm interventions.
In the first phase of this project, Leading Harvest engaged a broad set of research and stakeholder engagement methods that included a desktop analysis of 120 sustainability frameworks, a stakeholder survey, interviews with key representatives from across the supply chain, and breakout discussions at the 2024 Leading Harvest Annual North America Summit. The results of this analysis have been summarized in a landscape assessment research paper with a recommended set of metrics, which were discussed and refined at membership convenings. The refined set of metrics and the data collection process will now be piloted with members and partners.
